According to Trend, the visit is being carried out on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and aims to explore opportunities to support Syria’s development in various sectors such as the economy, oil and gas industry, energy, culture, and education — building on the humanitarian aid provided to the new Syrian authorities in January of this year.
The President of the Syrian Arab Republic for the transitional period, Ahmed al-Sharaa, received the Azerbaijani delegation. The delegation also held meetings with Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Hassan al-Shibani, Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar, Minister of Energy Mohammed al-Bashir, Minister of Culture Mohammed Yasin Saleh, and Minister of Education Mohammad Absurrahman Turkuo.
