President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev expressed serious concern over Armenia’s ongoing militarization and continued territorial claims against Azerbaijan during his speech at the international forum “Facing the New World Order” held at ADA University.
“We have restored our territorial integrity, but this does not mean that potential threats have disappeared. We must be prepared for any development,” the President stated.
According to Aliyev, despite the end of the Karabakh conflict, Armenia is actively increasing its military capacity, acquiring lethal weaponry from new partners. He also emphasized that Armenia’s Constitution still contains provisions reflecting territorial claims against Azerbaijan.
“Revanchist groups remain active within Armenian society, and the influx of arms only heightens the risk of future tensions,” Aliyev added.
The Azerbaijani leader called for the signing of a comprehensive peace agreement, stressing that normalization is only possible if Yerevan fully abandons its territorial ambitions.
