On 28 November, the 12th meeting of the State Commission on the Delimitation of the State Border between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the Commission on Delimitation and Border Security Issues was held in the city of Gabala, chaired by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
During the meeting, the sides noted the agreement reached at the 11th meeting on 16 January of this year to begin a comprehensive set of border-delimitation activities starting from the northern section — the area where the borders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia meet — and proceeding southward to the Armenia–Azerbaijan–Iran border.
The parties conducted an in-depth exchange of views on organizational and technical matters related to the delimitation process. Draft instructions outlining the procedures for conducting delimitation activities were also discussed.
Shahin Mustafayev and Mher Grigoryan held a separate exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
The sides agreed to set the date of the next meeting, which will take place in one of the cities of Armenia.
