Azerbaijan’s TURAN small-arms platform, developed by USH Group with the involvement of Azerbaijani special forces, has drawn strong interest from international partners and NATO-country representatives at the World Defense Show 2026 in Saudi Arabia.
The latest model, the TURAN-3 chambered in 7.62×51 NATO (.308), combines the capabilities of an assault rifle and a designated marksman rifle and is designed for elite units.
The platform’s development began with the TURAN-1 (7.62×39), first unveiled at ADEX 2024 in Baku, followed by the TURAN-2 in 5.56×45 NATO aimed at international standards and export markets. Today, the TURAN family covers three key calibers, forming a modular system positioned for both operational use and global defense cooperation.
