This information was reported by the press service of the Azerbaijani leader.
During the conversation, initiated by the American side, Blinken requested Aliyev to allow his assistant, James O’Brien, to visit Baku in December “with the aim of normalizing relations.”
President Aliyev agreed to this proposal on the condition that after this visit, the unjustified ban on visits by high-ranking Azerbaijani officials to the USA would be lifted. Secretary of State Blinken agreed to this.
The head of state noted that the statements made by the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State O’Brien regarding Azerbaijan at the hearings of the Subcommittee on Europe of the House Foreign Affairs Committee are biased, do not reflect reality, and are rejected by Azerbaijan.
