In Tehran, a perception is taking shape that Armenia is becoming a hub for the activities of forces hostile to Iran.
This was stated by Iran’s ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgollami, at a press conference, Minval Politika reported, citing news.am.
“A group of people has been given the opportunity and a green light to gather in front of the Iranian embassy in Armenia and make disrespectful and insulting statements. For six consecutive days, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., such actions have been taking place in front of the embassy. Despite our repeated complaints, this process continues. We have raised this issue many times with the relevant Armenian authorities. In the most difficult moments, we stood by the Armenian government — there are many examples of this. Today we ourselves are in a difficult situation, and what is happening in front of the Iranian embassy in Armenia will remain in the historical memory of the Iranian people. I think I have made myself clear,” Shirgollami said.
According to him, many had expected instability in Iran and the activation of separatist forces aimed at fragmenting the country.
“This was originally planned by Israel. They will not succeed. But if they were to achieve success in this matter, Armenia would be among the losers. I believe this point requires no further explanation,” the ambassador added.
