In his address, President Aliyev highlighted the significance of the ongoing partnership, which dates back to 2015, noting the dynamic and successful evolution of the relationship. He emphasized the importance of the regular high-level interactions that have facilitated numerous agreements enhancing trade volumes and energy cooperation. Notably, he pointed out the significant increase in Azerbaijani gas supplies to Bulgaria, which now constitutes a considerable portion of Bulgaria’s energy consumption, thereby cementing Azerbaijan’s role as a key energy provider in Europe.
President Radev, in his speech, expressed profound gratitude for the warm reception and praised the longstanding friendship and mutual understanding between the two nations. He lauded President Aliyev’s leadership and visionary approach, which have been instrumental in not only strengthening bilateral ties but also in enhancing the energy security of Bulgaria and Europe at large. Radev underscored the strategic importance of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria’s energy diversification strategy, highlighting successful projects like the Southern Gas Corridor which have linked Central and Eastern Europe with essential energy resources.
Further, President Radev extolled President Aliyev’s initiatives in green energy, which align with Bulgaria’s and Europe’s sustainability goals. He articulated a deep appreciation of Azerbaijan’s role in fostering regional stability and its contribution to Europe’s energy security, noting these efforts as exemplary of the strong leadership and forward-thinking policies of President Aliyev.
