U.S. President Donald Trump thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for adhering to the Peace Agreement signed last August.
According to Trump, the ended conflict was a “disgusting war,” one of eight conflicts he said he had managed to stop, and the region is now entering a phase of “prosperity and peace.”
Trump also wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that in February, U.S. Vice President Vance will visit Azerbaijan and Armenia to advance peace efforts and promote the “Trump Route” initiative for international peace and prosperity.
In addition, he noted his intention to strengthen the strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, conclude a “beautiful deal” on peaceful nuclear cooperation with Armenia, support agreements benefiting leading U.S. semiconductor manufacturers, and begin selling U.S.-made defense equipment to Azerbaijan, including body armor and boats, as well as “much more.”
