Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, following the announcement of the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections, once again reaffirmed Yerevan’s commitment to peace, regional cooperation and the normalization of relations with neighboring states.
Answering journalists’ question about his message to the peoples of Türkiye and Azerbaijan after the victory of his political force, Pashinyan noted that the position of the Armenian authorities remains unchanged, News.am reports.
According to him, Armenia stands for peace, regional prosperity and cooperation, expressing hope that this approach will receive a positive response both in Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
The prime minister stressed that one of the key tasks remains the institutionalization of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He recalled that the sides have already agreed on the text of a peace agreement, and that the next step should be its signing.
Speaking about Armenian-Turkish relations, Pashinyan stated the need to open the border and establish diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also positively assessed the decision to open the Akhalkalaki–Kars railway route for Armenian cargo, noting the importance of this step for trade and logistics.
According to the head of government, relations between Armenia and Türkiye are currently developing with positive momentum, but further efforts are needed to achieve a final result.
Pashinyan separately addressed the “Crossroads of Peace” project, which the Armenian authorities view as a strategic initiative for the entire South Caucasus. In his opinion, the implementation of the project could fundamentally change the transport and economic architecture of the region.
The prime minister noted that the initiative is important not only from an economic perspective, but also as an opportunity to overcome years of isolation and blockade-related restrictions. According to him, the region could transform from a dead end into an important transport and logistics hub.
Pashinyan emphasized that the development of such projects would create new opportunities for all countries of the region and contribute to strengthening long-term stability.
