Israel carried out a strike on Iran’s Bandar-e Anzali port on the Caspian Sea, targeting a key supply route between Russia and Iran used to transport drones, ammunition, and other military equipment.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported the development.
The port is also used for civilian trade, including wheat and oil shipments, raising concerns that the strike could affect Iran’s food and supply chains as well as its military operations.
According to WSJ sources, supported by satellite imagery and video evidence, the following were damaged:
- a naval base in Bandar-e Anzali;
- several Iranian naval vessels and boats;
- a command center;
- a repair shipyard;
- port infrastructure.
The Israeli military said the strike hit dozens of targets linked to Iran’s naval forces.
