On June 15, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Palestine to Baku, Ahmed Methani. The information was reported by the official website of the President of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Aliyev stated that “joint efforts to expand cooperation will continue to be made,” emphasizing the importance of various high-level reciprocal visits.
The President noted that “Azerbaijan has always supported the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people, the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the two-state principle and relevant UN resolutions, as well as Palestine’s just position in votes held on the Palestinian issue at the UN General Assembly.”
Aliyev also stressed that Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance to Palestine would continue in the future.
