Achieving an “irreversible and sustainable peace” between Azerbaijan and Armenia requires amending Armenia’s constitution to remove any territorial claims against Azerbaijan. This was stated by Elchin Amirbayov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments, in an interview with Agência Brasil.
During his visit to Brazil, Amirbayov emphasized the importance of informing local authorities about the ongoing peace process between Baku and Yerevan. He also underlined Azerbaijan’s interest in building a strategic partnership with Brazil, describing the country as one of the key players in Latin America.
“We believe there are many opportunities to enhance our economic cooperation and strengthen bilateral interests,” he said.
Amirbayov noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 32 years ago, Azerbaijan and Brazil have maintained strong and friendly political ties. He pointed to shared interests in areas such as agriculture, civil aviation, technology, education, and energy.
“We have working groups in various ministries dedicated to advancing this partnership,” the Azerbaijani president’s envoy added.
