He emphasized that the latest statements and actions by EU institutions clearly indicate its bias towards the occupier, which, in his view, contradicts principles of fairness and neutrality.
Shafiyev noted, “Never in 30 years of occupation has the EU expressed so much support for the liberation of Azerbaijani territories. It should not be surprising that countries of the Global South remain indifferent to European calls for united actions. However, the EU may have reasonable arguments in defense of certain causes. Nevertheless, such behavior may reveal double standards and claims of moral or legal supremacy.”
