Armenian Armed Forces conducted shelling of Azerbaijani border patrol, injuring an officer

On April 10th, at approximately 15:20, a border violation was detected on the service segment of the Gubadly separate border division of the Azerbaijani State Border Service (SBS) in the territory of the Jidjimli settlement, Gubadly district.

The violation involved two individuals from the village of Nerkin Khndzoresk, Armenia, who herded approximately 200 head of cattle about 300 meters into Azerbaijani territory.

As reported by the SBS press center, when our border patrol attempted to prevent the border violation, they were fired upon from an Armenian Armed Forces combat post, resulting in injury to Senior Lieutenant Rovshan Mamedov. The serviceman was promptly evacuated to a medical facility.

The operational situation is currently stable and under the control of our units.

“The responsibility for this latest provocation by the Armenian side lies entirely with the military and political leadership of Armenia,” stated the SBS press service.
