This was stated by Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, in a post on the social network X.
“During our official visit to Iran, we met with the head of the country’s railway administration, Jabbar Ali Zakeri Sardrudi. The main topic of our discussions was the construction of a railway line that will provide a direct land connection between the East Zangazur Economic Region and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic via Iranian territory. In addition, we addressed the strengthening of cooperation on the North-South corridor and discussed the steps taken by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC to develop both routes, as well as our future plans,” wrote R. Rustamov.
