Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister has given a direct assurance to Iran that Baku will not permit its airspace or land to be used by any third party for military operations against its neighbor. Azerbaijan has formally assured Iran that it will not allow its national territory to serve as a staging ground for military action against the Islamic Republic. In a diplomatic phone call, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov relayed this security guarantee to his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, according to a statement from Baku.
