The second round of bilateral market access talks between China and Azerbaijan regarding Azerbaijan’s WTO membership was held in Beijing on Friday, during which both sides agreed to finalize the negotiations, according to a statement by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).
The meeting was co-chaired by Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong and Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Chief WTO Accession Negotiator, Samad Bashirli.
Both parties reached a consensus on all initial proposals concerning trade in goods and services, agreeing to effectively conclude bilateral market access negotiations for Azerbaijan’s WTO accession, the MOFCOM statement said.
The conclusion of these talks marks a significant step forward in Azerbaijan’s accession to the WTO and reflects China’s strong support for Azerbaijan’s swift integration into the global trading system.
