This statement was made by Ayhan Hajizadeh, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, in response to local media questions about France labeling Azerbaijan as a “dictatorship.”
“The French side has not only failed to apologize for such irresponsible and unacceptable statements but has also expanded its defamatory campaign against Azerbaijan in Le Point and other local French media. The campaign against Azerbaijan under the guise of ‘democracy’ is an attempt to hide the failure of France’s foreign policy.”
Ayhan Hajizadeh pointed out that France’s activities, which attempt to teach the world a “lesson in democracy,” are well known for violations of international law, neocolonial policies, racism, discrimination, Islamophobia, and human rights restrictions.
“Therefore, before calling Azerbaijan a ‘dictatorship,’ it would be useful for France to reflect on its own actions. The French side should be assured that its campaign, inappropriate statements, and provocations against our country will not go unanswered,” Hajizadeh said.
