This development was highlighted during a meeting between Ambassador Mammadov and Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Administrative Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office in Afghanistan, as reported by the Taliban’s Department of Administrative Affairs. The discussion took place on Thursday night.
Ambassador Mammadov emphasized the importance of reopening Azerbaijan’s embassy in Afghanistan, viewing it as a testament to the strong and friendly ties between the two nations. He described Azerbaijan and Afghanistan as brotherly countries, both sovereign and respectful of each other’s territorial integrity and non-interference policies.
The Kabul Palace’s statement noted that Abdul Salam Hanafi expressed his contentment with the Azerbaijani Ambassador’s visit, indicating the Taliban’s desire to further strengthen and expand the bilateral relationship. Hanafi affirmed the Taliban administration’s openness to all forms of investment, ensuring the provision of necessary facilities for investors.
Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister of the interim government reiterated the Taliban’s commitment to fostering positive and amicable relations with not only Azerbaijan but also other countries globally.
