Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information to James Cleverly about the situation in the region, highlighting that the conclusion of local anti-terrorism operations in the Karabakh region had put an end to the existence of illegal Armenian armed forces, which posed a threat to peace and stability.
Jeyhun Bayramov reported that the disarmament of illegal formations in Azerbaijani territories had removed obstacles to the reintegration of Armenian residents. The Minister noted that the Azerbaijani government is in contact with local Armenian representatives to address their social, humanitarian, and infrastructural needs, sharing Azerbaijan’s plans and corresponding measures in this regard.
Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that actions against their territorial integrity and sovereignty, undermining historical opportunities for peace after nearly 30 years of conflict, do not contribute to peacekeeping efforts. He stressed the crucial need for the international community to demonstrate a constructive approach to this issue.
James Cleverly underscored the importance of continuing efforts to build peace and trust in the region, particularly the ongoing negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
