As reported by Trend on Monday, the protest is organized by the Azerbaijani community in Europe. The participants are expressing strong opposition to ongoing injustices and double standards towards Azerbaijan.
In response to the biased stance recently displayed in the parliaments of Europe and the Netherlands, the protesters have gathered in front of the Peace Palace, demonstrating unity and solidarity among Azerbaijanis living abroad.
The demonstrators are chanting slogans such as:
“Rise for justice!”,
“Truth for Azerbaijan – justice for all!”,
“Azerbaijan’s rights are recognized worldwide!”,
“Together for justice, peace, and truth!”,
“Down with double standards!”
The Azerbaijanis living in Europe reminded the public of the mass killings and acts of genocide committed by Armenians against the Azerbaijani people throughout various historical periods. They emphasized that, in terms of scale and consequences, these crimes — according to international legal norms enshrined in conventions, as well as moral and ethical codes — constitute crimes against humanity.
The protesters are demanding the recognition of the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis 107 years ago — on March 31, 1918.
