Baku views the recent development of relations with Armenia very positively. This statement was made by Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a joint press conference with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister for Foreign, European Affairs, and Trade of the Republic of Malta, Ian Borg.
According to Bayramov, the results achieved recently are historic.
“This happened exclusively through direct negotiations between the two countries. We hope that work in this direction will continue positively. Intensive negotiations resumed in February. Overall, we assess the negotiations positively. Our expectations must align accordingly. This is a rather important and complex process,” he added.
Bayramov also outlined the conditions for concluding a peace agreement with Armenia.
According to him, the agreement should be without open-ended clauses and not include issues that could become topics of negotiation again after some time.
“This year, negotiations took place in Munich, Berlin, and Almaty. I cannot disclose all the details due to some specific aspects,” he noted.
