Bodies of two more Azerbaijani sailors found after Azov Sea drone attack

The bodies of two more Azerbaijani citizens killed in the drone attack on cargo ships in the Azov Sea have been found, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The incident occurred on June 5, when two foreign cargo vessels carrying a total of 25 Azerbaijani crew members came under drone attack in the Sea of Azov.

According to the ministry, the bodies of Gismat Aliyev, born in 1969, and Fuad Orujov, born in 1981, were discovered during ongoing search and rescue operations.

Nineteen Azerbaijani citizens who survived the attack have been sent back to Azerbaijan and are expected to arrive in the country around noon on June 9.

The MFA also said that, after the completion of the necessary procedures, the bodies of the four deceased Azerbaijani citizens, along with two accompanying citizens currently in the Russian city of Yeysk, are expected to be repatriated to Azerbaijan in the coming days.

As a result of the attack, four Azerbaijani citizens were killed and four others were injured.
