On April 12 at 7:00 PM, a special evening dedicated to the art of contemporary piano music will take place at the Museum Center of Baku (3rd floor, Assembly Hall). The event will feature pianist Humay Gasimzade presenting her newly released CD album, which includes works by contemporary Azerbaijani composers.
Humay Gasimzade is a gifted pianist and interpreter of contemporary academic repertoire. She is a graduate of prestigious music institutions in both Azerbaijan and the United States. Her performances are marked by refined sensitivity, expressive technique, and a profound understanding of 21st-century music.
Humay is known for her participation in international cultural initiatives such as EAR|EYE: Listening and Looking, an interdisciplinary project organized by the Toledo Museum of Art (USA), where she performed A Walk Through the Shadow by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Anthony Davis. Her interpretations of works by composers such as Turkar Gasimzade and Elmir Mirzoev can be found on YouTube and SoundCloud.
At the upcoming April concert in Baku, the audience will hear compositions by Turkar Gasimzade, Ayaz Gambarli, Tahir Ibishov, Said Gani, and Elmir Mirzoev – composers whose work shapes the face of contemporary Azerbaijani music.
