Azerbaijan and China have signed new protocols allowing the export of Azerbaijani poultry meat and seafood products to the Chinese market.
The documents were signed by Goshgar Tahmazli, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, and Sun Meijun, head of China’s General Administration of Customs, during the Azerbaijani delegation’s working visit to China.
The protocols define inspection, quarantine and food safety requirements for the export of poultry meat, aquaculture products and wild aquatic resources. They also create a legal framework for supplies to China and open new opportunities for Azerbaijani producers and exporters.
During the visit, the sides also discussed expanding access for Azerbaijani agricultural products to the Chinese market, digitalization, mutual recognition of certification and cooperation in food safety.
Tahmazli also held a meeting with Luo Wen, head of China’s State Administration for Market Regulation. The discussions focused on strengthening state control, introducing effective inspection systems and advancing digital transformation in the field of market regulation.
