The meeting focused on the discussion of matters of mutual interest.
Canadian MP-s were told that Azerbaijan, a leading state of the South Caucasus, stepped onto a straight path of development after ending Armenian occupation. The Canadian MP-s promised to visit the Azerbaijani House to be opened in Toronto soon, and mentioned the importance of targeting on the development that would take Azerbaijan forward.
The chairman of the committee also met with Ted Arnott, Speaker of the Parliament of Ontario. Before the meeting, speaker introduced the chairman and employees of the State Committee to the members of parliament and gave brief information about their visit.
Expressing his sincere gratitude for the meeting, chairman of the committee gave detailed information about the aims of their visit to Canada. He noted that the visit would include the meeting with the Azerbaijani community, discussion of their future plans, opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani House and exchange of views on new projects.
The committee chairman informed that 50 million Azerbaijanis live in more than 70 countries of the world and following the recommendations of the President of Azerbaijan the Committee keeps in touch with Azerbaijani communities abroad, including our compatriots living in Canada.
Lalin Hasanova, chairwoman of Vatan Azerbaijani Art and Culture Centre spoke about the organization she leads and gave detailed information about the mission of the Azerbaijani House to be opened in Toronto.
Views were exchanged and proposals were voiced regarding future cooperation at the meeting held in Ontario Province Parliament.
