Poor, peace-loving, defenseless people, who would never hurt a fly, are nevertheless persecuted and exterminated by everyone and their mother.
Of course, while routinely bemoaning their ill fortune, Armenians wisely omit the fact that it was they who, at the behest of their church and “enlightened” politicians, for centuries sowed intrigues and discord far beyond the borders of their habitat, which is what actually kicked off their persecutions.
It is said that this is why two millennia ago neighboring countries destroyed the state, which contemporaries now nostalgically call “Greater Armenia”.
However, this is too distant history, and the concept of “genocide” did not exist at that time, fortunately or unfortunately for the Armenian people.
We are much better acquainted with the history of a century ago, when Armenians betrayed the people of Türkiye, who had created for them all conditions for a full life and prosperity, and began to exterminate Turks “in gratitude”, for which they were relocated to the southern provinces of the Ottoman Empire.
Unfortunately, with the help of Western patrons, Armenians managed to portray this process as “genocide of the Armenian people”, which is accepted by many countries of the world today.
And now, a century later, Armenians again decided to remind mankind about the “martyr nation” and play the genocide card.
But this time against Azerbaijan.
Once again, not without the help of their Western patrons.
For example, Luis Moreno Ocampo, former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, announced in his report that the blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan is genocide of ethnic Armenians of “Nagorno-Karabakh”. And in response to the audience’s bewilderment, he clarified: “Genocide is not only massacres on ethnic grounds!”
The whole point of this retired prosecutor’s accusation against the government of Azerbaijan was that it had dared, after three years of incessant provocations by illegal Armenian armed groups, to impose order on the portion of its own territory temporarily controlled by Russian peacekeepers.
Ocampo presented the voluntary exodus of Armenians from Karabakh as a coercive measure. Paradoxically, even the Armenian government did not support this paid nonsense.
But ex-prosecutor Ocampo is firm in his opinion: the voluntary exodus of Armenians who refused to take Azerbaijani citizenship is also genocide.
Or a variation thereof.
One has to wonder where the principled prosecutors like Luis Moreno Ocampo were when the sons of a nation that “would not hurt a fly” forcibly expelled hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis from their homeland thirty years ago, to which there are numerous proofs and living witnesses?
As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated, it is absolutely unacceptable and extremely cynical that Armenia, who committed massacres and crimes against humanity against Azerbaijan during almost thirty years of aggression, violated the fundamental rights of about one million ethnic Azerbaijanis, hypocritically continues to accuse Azerbaijan of “ethnic cleansing” of the Armenians who voluntarily moved to Armenia, as well as spreads this disgusting slander on various international platforms.
After reading the “conclusions” of ex-prosecutor Ocampo, any reasonable person would call them a fevered delusion of a mentally traumatized person, if not for one important clarification: this delusion, a product of the genetically traumatized psyche of generations of Armenian politicians, is the foundation of the defective “genocide ideology” based on the myth of the events of 1915. The very myth that the Armenians’ Western colleagues helped to inflate to the apocalyptical proportions, pushing the number of victims up to one and a half million, although it is a proven fact that there have never been so many Armenians living in Türkiye.
By taking a military solution to the Karabakh problem and establishing full sovereignty over its territory, Azerbaijan also destroyed the myth about the allegedly Armenian lands of Karabakh, as well as the “genocide ideology” with the help of which Armenians have been bargaining for more and more privileges for over a hundred years.
With its inept, cynical and unapologetic lies about the “genocide” that Azerbaijan allegedly committed against ethnic Armenians in Karabakh, Armenia publicly shot itself in the foot.
