“I have come from Israel to Azerbaijan with the largest delegation ever. The relations between Azerbaijan and Israel are strategic. That is why I decided to come to your beautiful country after the opening of the embassy in Israel. Good relations between the countries are based first and foremost on the good relations between the people of Azerbaijan and the people of Israel. I want to emphasize once again our deep gratitude to the Azerbaijani people for their treatment of the Jewish community that has been living in Azerbaijan for centuries. This is a good basis for relations. We have excellent relations between the Azerbaijani people and the Jewish people and between the governments,” said the minister.
Cohen stated that Israel and Azerbaijan are actively working together in economy, tourism and security.
“We see Azerbaijan as a strategic partner. Trade relations will certainly expand. I am here to fulfill this potential and further strengthen relations between the two countries. We will sign agreements on innovation, cyber security and education. Our governments have set a goal to strengthen bilateral cooperation. My goal is to take the relationship to a higher level, and we are working on that. I am confident that we will see a lot of results from the upcoming business forum,” the Israeli minister added.
