Regardless of circumstances, France’s “objective” policy has a continuation.
The genius and the wonder of the thing. These are the words Sherlock Holmes uses to describe Moriarty’s personality to his friend Watson in one of Conan Doyle’s books about the adventures of the genius detective.
Today, all criminal offenses can be safely put away in the archives, sealed with the “hooliganism” label. And this is not a joke at all, but a harsh reality, which makes it clear that in their “peaceful” decisions, some so-called politicians sacrifice people on the altar of their own greed.
It is no secret that France is failing on all fronts today. Having lost ground and respect in the countries of Africa, Macron has opted for offsetting his failure in the south with a presence in the South Caucasus region.
Commenting on the situation, Azerbaijani MP, political scientist Rasim Musabayov said that Paris had lost almost everything: “They have lost diamonds and uranium from Africa. As President Ilham Aliyev said, there is no place for France here…”
“France is a major power, it can call for whatever it wants. But as they say, if only wishing made it so. For Azerbaijan, French “wants” are of no significance in matters pertaining to the sovereign territory of our state. We just take note and remember. And we pay back with interest as opportunity offers,” the political scientist said.
When asked, “Still, what is on the minds of the ruling class in France?” he responded that this is a problem for the voters of that country to worry about.
“Paris has problems not only in Africa, but also in the metropolis itself. Rallies, protests and pogroms after the murder of a black teenager have only just been curbed by the police. The national debt is off the charts. Not surprisingly, President Macron is trying to make up for the lack of domestic success with achievements in the foreign policy arena. But even here he has failed. At least in Azerbaijan we gave him a slap on the wrist,” the MP said.
Another important nuance is worth mentioning. The South Caucasus occupies a major place in France’s geopolitical plans. France has established “sisterly” relations with Armenia. The Prime Minister of Georgia and many members of the Georgian government are graduates of French universities and have residence permits in this country. President Salome Zourabichvili and Georgia’s shadow boss Ivanishvili are French citizens.
“So Paris believes that on a personal level it has a strong position in Georgia. France’s plans still involve gaining a foothold in Azerbaijan, and they are trying to achieve this through interference in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, siding with the Armenians, while all their economic interests are centered in Azerbaijan. It is not going to work. The South Caucasus is important for France not only in itself, but also as a strategic platform from which it can move to Central Asia and Iran. The energy resources of these regions, Kazakh uranium, Uzbek cotton and the markets of these countries are alluring to France. But the strategy of Paris’ actions against Azerbaijan is a failure,” the MP concluded.
In short, Paris today is in a more difficult position than the hunchback who coveted Esmeralda. Frankly speaking, Quasimodo has a better chance of getting Esmeralda’s hand in marriage than Macron has of “dropping anchor” in the South Caucasus. Emmanuel, you are being chased out of Africa. What makes you think you can find refuge in the South Caucasus? We cannot understand the Frenchman’s logic…
