The European Union is holding talks with the United States, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye on possible participation in the TRIPP project (The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity), EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said.
According to her, discussions involve not only the approximately 42-kilometer segment but also the broader infrastructure needed to ensure connectivity in both eastern and western directions. Kos emphasized that the work must be carried out comprehensively rather than in fragments.
She added that Armenia must present its own priorities within the broader regional connectivity framework. “The EU has its own proposals and continues consultations with Türkiye and Azerbaijan. U.S. involvement is particularly important because the project goes far beyond a single railway segment,” Kos stated.
