This statement was made by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, during his speech at the summit of the heads of states and governments of the member countries of the United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), held in Baku, as reported by Report.
“Azerbaijan is a very important economic partner for Georgia. The trade turnover between the two countries has increased by 16%,” Garibashvili said.
He also mentioned that the project to lay an electric cable along the bottom of the Black Sea is very important for the region.
“Georgia has taken steps to invest in projects for road construction and the development of air transport,” added the Prime Minister.
Furthermore, he noted that Georgia is interested in consolidating its partnership with Azerbaijan and the Central Asian region.
