Recalling the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 26th anniversary of the occupation of the Lachin district, the politician noted, “The primary goal outlined in that statement was to restore Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, ensure the rights of displaced persons, including those from the Lachin district, and overcome the severe consequences of the conflict. Azerbaijan not only supported the intensification of international efforts for a swift resolution of the conflict but also upheld the principles of restoring territorial integrity and sovereignty within internationally recognized borders in accordance with the UN Charter. Now we are talking about the future. The game is over. New realities have emerged in the South Caucasus region. Azerbaijan has ensured its territorial integrity and sovereignty, and the protection of the rights of displaced persons and refugees.”
The Assistant to the President added that the whole world is now witnessing the return of displaced persons to their homes, the revival of Lachin, and the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
“This has become possible as a result of the initiation of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The road leading to Lachin is very close to the Armenian border. On the opposite side of the Hakari River, we see Armenian posts and flags. Azerbaijan intends to delineate its state border with Armenia,” the politician noted.
