The 55-container block train left from the Chinese city of Chongqing, transited through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea and Azerbaijan. Part of the load was destined for Georgia and Eastern Europe, and was delivered to the port of Poti for further transport to Constanța (Romania) via the Black Sea.
The remainder of the goods continued down the Baku – Tbilish – Kars railway towards Türkiye and Germany.
Diversification
“The decision to utilise the Middle Corridor for this shipment underscores Azerbaijan’s importance as a strategic transit hub. Previously, Hellmann relied on routes through Russia, but this project marks a significant move toward diversifying the company’s logistics solutions”, ADY express comments.
“This milestone highlights the growing attractiveness of the Middle Corridor as an alternative and efficient route for transporting goods between China and Europe”, the Azerbaijani operator adds.
“The corridor significantly reduces transit time by bypassing congested routes and traditional ports. The collaboration between ADY Express and Hellmann paves the way for more international players to utilise the Middle Corridor, enhancing economic ties between East and West.”
