Magdalena Grono expressed her deepest condolences regarding the recent plane crash and voiced hope that all causes of the incident would be thoroughly investigated.
Highlighting Azerbaijan as an important partner of the European Union, the guest emphasized the EU’s interest in ensuring lasting stability in the South Caucasus region. She also addressed Azerbaijan’s significant role both within the region and beyond, underlining the importance of dialogue between the European Union and Azerbaijan. She noted Azerbaijan’s vital contribution to Europe’s energy security and stressed the importance of cooperation, particularly in the energy sector.
President Ilham Aliyev underscored the long-standing history of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union. In this context, issues related to energy, transport, investments, trade, and other areas of mutual interest were discussed.
The President stated that Azerbaijan would continue its efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus region and highlighted that the negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia is ongoing on a bilateral level.
During the meeting, the importance of maintaining dialogue to further develop cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union was emphasized.
