In his address, Ilham Aliyev highlighted the 15th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Agreement, which served as the foundation for the TSO, and emphasized the successful development of the organization during this period. He expressed confidence in the active participation of TSO member countries in the upcoming COP29 climate conference, which will be held in Azerbaijan, noting that over 200 countries supported Azerbaijan’s candidacy, reflecting high respect from the international community.
The President also focused on the importance of military cooperation among member states, underscoring the significance of joint exercises and the training of cadets in military educational institutions as a sign of trust and friendship. Additionally, he reported an increase in transportation through the East-West transport corridor via Azerbaijan, noting nearly a 15 percent increase in transit traffic in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
