President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is participating in the session.
“The complete restoration of our sovereignty as a result of the Second Karabakh War and the counter-terrorism operation opens up new opportunities and new horizons for the country,” Ilham Aliyev was quoted as saying by AZERTAC.
Noting that the thirty-year occupation is now behind us, the head of state emphasized that the country has now embarked on large-scale construction and development, with results already visible.
“Over the past 3-4 years, our country’s international standing has further strengthened. We have managed to make the world accept the outcomes of the Second Karabakh War and the counter-terrorism operation,” the president said.
The head of state highlighted that the top priority is the enhancement of the country’s military power:
“Even though the Second Karabakh War and the counter-terrorism operation are behind us, global developments, the emergence of new conflict zones, wars, and escalating tensions around us, as well as revanchist tendencies in Armenia, force us to continuously focus on this area.”
Another key task for the country is the restoration of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. “However, if we pay less attention to the military sphere and fail to allocate sufficient resources, we may face serious problems in the future.”
