The head of state once again expressed Azerbaijan’s position on the Iran–Israel conflict and conveyed the country’s concern over the escalation of the situation in the region.
President Aliyev offered condolences over the deaths of Iranian citizens during the recent events and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The President expressed satisfaction with the cessation of the Iran–Israel conflict and the establishment of a ceasefire, stressing that peace and stability in the region remain a priority.
In turn, Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for the condolences.
During the phone call, the two leaders exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral relations, recalled with satisfaction Pezeshkian’s successful visit to Azerbaijan, and emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts to implement the agreements reached during that visit.
President Aliyev renewed his invitation to Pezeshkian to attend the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit, which will be held in Azerbaijan in early July.
