The summit in Baku gathered CEOs and industry leaders from air navigation service providers across the Euro-Asia/CIS region, aiming to bolster collaboration and address key challenges in the aviation sector.
This summit was designed to enhance cooperation among industry leaders, fostering a better understanding and developing common strategic objectives to improve air transport performance and efficiency in Central Asia.
Simon Hocquard, the Director General of CANSO, stated: “Our goal was to encourage dialogue between industry stakeholders, focusing on finding collaborative solutions and strategies to enhance air navigation services, and to improve safety, efficiency, and capacity. This will ultimately contribute to the growth of the aviation sector. Farhan Guliyev, Director of the Azeraeronavigation Air Traffic Department, highlighted the significance of this initiative for regional civil aviation development. “Hosting this strategically vital event is a great pleasure for us. We anticipate that it marks the beginning of increased collaboration and effective coordination to boost the performance and efficiency of air transport in the Central Asia region.”
AZANS, a member of CANSO, manages the airspace at the crossroads of West and East, as well as the Middle East and North America. This positions the airspace of the Azerbaijan Republic as a pivotal link between Europe and Asia.
