This was announced by the office of the Israeli Prime Minister. The statement noted that, in light of the developments in the Gaza Strip and Syria, as well as due to a tight schedule of political events and security measures, Netanyahu has decided to postpone his visit to Azerbaijan to a later date. The Prime Minister thanked President Aliyev for the invitation and highly praised the warm relations between the two countries.
Netanyahu was originally scheduled to visit Azerbaijan from May 7 to May 11.
It was also previously reported that the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied claims that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plane had been granted permission to fly over Baku.
“The claims that the Israeli Prime Minister’s plane was granted overflight permission are completely unfounded. We have also not received any such request,” said ministry representative Oncu Keçeli.
