President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan extended his congratulations to Azerbaijani Head of State Ilham Aliyev on winning the bid to host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in 2024, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
This decision is the clear evidence of your country’s high authority at the international arena, recognition of the effective and progressive policy of Azerbaijan and its commitment to the global climate agenda. I’m convinced the holding of this large-scale forum in beautiful Baku will significantly contribute to the promotion of the SDGs, help address the most pressing issues of today, attract the attention of the world community to the regional environmental issues as well, reads the letter.
The Kazakh Head of State reassured his Azerbaijani counterpart that Kazakhstan is ready to provide all-round support and take an active part for successful and productive holding of COP29.
