Azerbaijan’s proposals for a peace treaty with Armenia will create the basis for a legal document, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference following a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Moscow, Russian bureau of Report informs.
“During the talks, we touched upon the subject of a peace treaty, everything must be done to bring the positions of the parties together. The Azerbaijani proposals will create a basis for a legal document,” he said.
According to the Russian foreign minister, Russian peacekeepers are regularly working to resolve the situation and resolve differences over ore deposits in Karabakh. He noted that the topic is old and it is necessary to remove its sharpness.
Russia, like no one else, is interested in establishing a lasting and just peace, Lavrov noted. According to him, the implementation of all tripartite statements was also analyzed, and the issue of unblocking transport communications and restoring economic ties was discussed.
