Armenian Telegram channels report that Colonel General Alexander Lentsov will be appointed the new commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
This information was confirmed by Sputnik, citing a source in the Russian Defense Ministry.
Lentsov was Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces until 2020. He participated in combat operations in the first and second wars in Chechnya and in the Russian military operation in Syria.
