“The life of this young man was suddenly and tragically cut short by the hands of criminal assassins. First of all, I would like to express my condolences to the family of the deceased on behalf of Israel and to the entire Azerbaijani people for this tragedy,” Israeli political analyst Mikhail Finkel told us.
According to him, there may be two versions of what happened.
“The first version is that this is an act of terrorism committed by Iranian fanatics, lunatics who hate Azerbaijan. The terrorist act was committed with the connivance and criminal negligence of the Iranian authorities, who may not have been aware of it.
“This is the first version, which, of course, puts Iran on a par with the most backward, underdeveloped countries, where the state and security agencies know nothing about planned terrorist attacks and can do nothing to prevent them and cannot create a safe environment for members of diplomatic missions. This is still the best possible scenario.
“The second version is far worse and more tragic. The Iranian authorities knew about the planned attack and knowingly, deliberately allowed it to happen. Given the history of terrorist activities of Iran, who commits and sponsors terrorist acts both directly and through its dogs, be it the Houthis in the Middle East, or terrorists in Africa, or Hezbollah in Lebanon, Syria and wherever else, we cannot rule out that the second scenario is more likely, that Iran simply allowed it, knew about it and is an accomplice to this horrific crime,” said M. Finkel.
