According to him, 80% of the peace treaty has already been agreed upon, including 13 articles and the preamble. Two articles have been partially agreed upon, each consisting of two sentences. Pashinyan proposed signing the agreed parts of the treaty and continuing to work on the remaining points.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry declared that signing a “partially agreed” peace treaty was unacceptable and demanded that Yerevan amend its Constitution.
Pashinyan noted that the document envisions the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as progress in border delimitation and demarcation. He emphasized the importance of unblocking transportation routes in the region, presenting the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, which would ensure Armenia’s railway connections with Iran, Turkey, and Russia, and Azerbaijan’s with Turkey and Iran.
He added that an important step is the opening of road and rail links between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through Armenian territory, and Armenia is ready to provide this opportunity.
