According to Pashinyan, in order to build peace in the region it is necessary to start “with simple but important things”, it is necessary to stop hate speech both on official and everyday levels.
Pashinyan also said that the practice of calling political opponents in Armenia or Azerbaijan “Turks” and “Armenians”, respectively, as an insult must stop.
As the Armenian Prime Minister pointed out, he himself is often called a Turk in Armenia, but he does not see it as an insult: “This vicious practice must be stopped, if there is a desire for peace, the names of other nations should never be used as insults,” Pashinyan said.
