Torosyan also accused the Church of undermining Armenian statehood.
“Our people have a very difficult fate. Apart from the fact that they need to destroy myths and stereotypes that are more than 100 years old to navigate this stormy sea, they actually still have to completely and fundamentally destroy a 1700-year-old myth, although they partially managed to do this by creating statehood,” Torosyan stated.
Pashinyan’s ally also believes that the Church wants to “sacrifice the statehood of Armenia for its own internal and external group interests”:
“The direct contribution of the Church in the destruction of Armenian statehood… will be exhausted, the Republic of Armenia will not retreat,” declared the representative of the ruling party.
