According to Report, the Azerbaijani leader stated: “The value of the weapons the Armenian army received from abroad—which we destroyed during the Second Karabakh War and the subsequent anti-terrorist operation, and captured as military booty—was approximately 5–6 billion dollars. Of course, Armenia did not have the funds to purchase such an arsenal. All these weapons were provided for free, with the purpose of continuing the occupation, preventing Azerbaijanis from returning to their ancestral lands, and ensuring that the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan could not be resolved peacefully.”
President Aliyev noted that the reconciliation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan is nearly complete and that the signed agreements fully protect Azerbaijan’s interests.
He added: “We have achieved our goals. The infamous Minsk Group is now in its final days. In reality, it was not functioning and could not function. It still existed legally, but its end is approaching.”
Regarding infrastructure projects, the President said, “The construction of the railway to Zangilan is already well underway and is expected to be completed next year.”
He further highlighted plans for the modernization of the railway in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, adding that construction will also take place on Armenian territory. “Armenia has committed to this as well, which represents yet another historic success for us,” President Aliyev stated.
