Azerbaijan possesses a strong defense industry, producing various types of military equipment. This was stated by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, during a press briefing with his Somali counterpart, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
“I believe that cooperation in the defense sector, training, as well as the potential joint production of defense equipment and its supply from Azerbaijan to Somalia, should be among the key areas of our partnership,” the Azerbaijani leader emphasized.
Ilham Aliyev also highlighted the importance of mutual support in international institutions as a crucial aspect of the partnership.
“We will continue to support each other in the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other international organizations, as it is essential for both countries to have reliable partners and friends,” the head of state noted.
