“We discussed prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Special attention was paid to the development of trade and economic relations as well as energy collaboration. Our strategic partnership plays a crucial role in regional stability and ensuring reliable connectivity for our international partners,” said the Georgian Prime Minister.
Ali Asadov highlighted the importance of joint economic projects that have reshaped the energy and transportation landscape of the region. Among the key initiatives, he emphasized the Southern Gas Corridor, which is instrumental in ensuring Europe’s energy security. The Azerbaijani company SOCAR continues gas supplies to Georgia, and collaboration in the oil sector is advancing successfully: 30 million tons of oil were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline last year.
Additionally, crude oil and oil products shipments have begun from the Kulevi terminal. Asadov also stressed the significance of constructing the Black Sea Submarine Power Cable, a project implemented jointly with Romania and Hungary, which will be a vital contribution to Europe’s energy security.
Irakli Kobakhidze proposed a trilateral cooperation initiative between Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia. According to him, this idea aims to develop joint projects in various sectors, fostering peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
“Peace and stability are of paramount importance for the sustainable development of the region and the well-being of its peoples,” Kobakhidze stated.
