During negotiations at the Kremlin between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, an agreement was reached that Russian border guards will not serve at Zvartnots airport, according to Armenian Telegram channels.
Additionally, it was reported that Russian military personnel will leave their positions in Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik, Ararat, and Tavush, where they have been stationed based on a verbal agreement following the 44-day war in 2020.

Negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan concluded at the Kremlin, lasting just over an hour, Russian media reported.
Pashinyan and Putin held a bilateral meeting after the jubilee summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and an informal dinner hosted by the President of Russia in honor of the heads of the CIS countries and the President of Cuba.
At the beginning of the meeting, Putin suggested discussing the entire spectrum of relations, including security in the region. He stated that Russia-Armenia relations are developing successfully, with increasing trade turnover.
“Regarding bilateral relations, they are also developing very successfully,” said Putin.
In particular, Putin noted, “last year the trade turnover increased by a very significant amount.”
“Of course, there are issues not only related to the growth of trade turnover; there are issues concerning security in the region,” continued the Russian President.
Putin did not specify these issues in the presence of the press, noting that there was an opportunity to discuss them on the sidelines of the EAEU summit.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin is optimistic about Putin’s meeting with Pashinyan. “One probably shouldn’t exaggerate the complexity of the conversation. Certainly, there are some problematic themes in our bilateral relations,” said Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary for the President of Russia.
Peskov also noted that the closer the interaction between the two countries and the broader the complex of these relations, the more frequently various issues arise.
